Abriel Clinton "A.C." Willard, age 82, of Loretto, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at his residence.
He was born November 3, 1929 in Shelby County, KY. He was a retired truck driver for Smith's Transfer in Louisville, a former employee of Nelson County Feed and a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Bickers and Hettie Southerland Willard, his twin brother, H.B. Willard, one sister, Lena Mae Hill and one grandson, Shane Willard.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Louise Mattingly Willard, seven daughters, Trisha Richardson (Keith) of Waddy, Melody Garcia (Joe) of Fall Brook, California, Bonnie Downs (Ronnie) and Patsy Edelen (Ralph) all of Cox's Creek, Brenda Gognat (Frank) of Clarksville, IN, Annette Robertson (Roger) of New Haven and Sharon Ballard (Brian) of Loretto, six sons, Terry Willard (Sandy) of Waddy, Greg Willard of Eminence, Doug Willard of New Salisbury, Indiana, Tim Willard of Simpsonville, Mike Willard of Nashva, New Hampshire, Troy Willard of Louisville, 30 grandchildren & 23 great-grandchildren, one brother, Curtis Willard of Shelbyville and one sister, Oneida Hammonds of Colorado.
Funeral will be 10 AM Monday, October 29, 2012 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, followed by interment in the Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Saint Francis. Pastor Rick Loader will officiate.
Friends may pay their respects 3-8 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 6 PM Sunday.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Chad Clan, Jamie Downs, Brian Edelen, Mark Edelen, Michael Gognat, Clinton Gognat and Josh Ballard. Honorary Palbearers are also grandsons, Isaac Ballard and Christopher Robertson.
