Addie E. Cecil, 98, of Louisville, Ky., died January 23, 2010 in Louisville.
She was born January 11, 1912 in New Hope, Ky. She married Augustus Cecil on April 18, 1939 in New Hope, KY, and they celebrated 66 years of marriage until his death in 2005.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at St Thomas More Catholic Church, 6105 S. Third St. in Louisville with the Rev. Philip Erickson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday January 25, 2010 and from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday January 26, 2010 at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road in Louisville. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Raywick, Ky.
Memorials contributions may be made for masses for Addie or to Mass of the Air or St Thomas More Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Augustus V. Cecil; her daughter Sylvia Estelle Cloyd (Cecil); her father Alonzo Benedict Cheshire and mother Alice Mae Hall Cheshire; sisters Sister Mary Estelle, Catherine Mae Cheshire Bowman, Eleanor Agnita Cheshire Craven, Alice Mae Cheshire Hutchins; brothers Thaddeus Aubrey Cheshire, Vincent Emmett Cheshire and Joseph Estel Cheshire; and one great-granddaughter Emilie Cecil.
Survivors include daughter Cathy Arlene (Melvin) Arnold of Xenia, OH; sons Joseph Ronald (Kathy) Cecil of Sevierville, TN, Stephen Wayne (Judy) Cecil of Columbus, IN, Thomas Richard Cecil of Louisville, KY., and Alton Ray (Debi) Cecil of Louisville, KY; son-in-law John Cloyd of Louisville, KY; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
