George Allen Thomas, age 94 of Saint Francis, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Center.

He was born December 30, 1923 in Jefferson County to the late James Cornelius and Barnette Scamahorne Thomas. He was a retired Farmer and former employee of U of L College. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Catherine Jacobs Thomas (1997); one infant son, Robert Lee Thomas (1966).

Survivors include two sons, James Allen "Squirrel" Thomas and Donald Lee "Chip" Thomas both of Saint Francis; one sister, Agnes Walter of Louisville.

Graveside Services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Lebanon National Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation is Noon until 1 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.
