Allie Mae Mattingly, 80, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 17, 2025, with her devoted husband by her side. Born on December 6, 1944, in Saint Francis, Mae dedicated many years to Cowden Manufacturing before retiring from Wilbert Plastics. She found great enjoyment in quilting and was a faithful member of Saint Augustine Catholic Church. Mae will be fondly remembered for her kindness, her love for quilting, and her steadfast faith.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Effie Mae Ruley Thompson; one grandson, Jordan Mattingly and one infant great granddaughter; two brothers, Lawrence and David Martin Thompson and three infant siblings.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Frank Mattingly; three children, Lynette Ruebens (Jeff) of Frankfort, Sherry Phillips (Steven) of Grayson, Georgia, and Sheila Childers (Donnie Stirneman) of Louisville; seven grandchildren, Logan Ruebens, Jennah Ruebens, Chelsea Sapp (Chris), LeeAnn Childers, Bryan Phillips, Evan Phillips, and Lindsey Phillips; four great grandchildren, Gabriel and Aiden Mattingly and Briley and Colton Sapp; six sisters, Edith Miles of LaGrange, Pat Gottschalk (Clay) of Paducah, Mary Margaret Mattingly of Loretto, Celestine Kirchhoff (Fred) of Frankfort, Karen Hornbaker (Lowell) of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Theresa Woods (Glenn) of Pleasureville; five brothers, John Thompson (Nadine) of Lawrenceburg, Terry Thompson (Dina) of Saint Francis, Dennis Thompson (Claire) of Plano, TX, Joe Thompson of Lexington, and Maurice Thompson (Maggie) of Eastern Kentucky; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mae Mattingly will be celebrated at 12 noon on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Saint Augustine Catholic Church, 235 S. Spalding Avenue, Lebanon. Rev. Hillary Chumo, F.M.H. will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The visitation is 3-8 pm Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Deacon Donald Coulter.
Pallbearers are Steve and Bryan Phillips, John Thompson, Logan Ruebens, Joey Warren, and Billy Thompson; Honorary Pallbearers are Chelsea Sapp, Jennah Ruebens, LeeAnn Childers, and Lindsey Phillips.
