Alma Schuler, age 96, died peacefully Sunday night, November 13, at the Loretto Motherhouse.
Alma was the first staff member at Bellarmine College and a loyal and devoted employee from 1950 until her retirement in 1973, then continued her willing work at St. James Catholic Church. She was a co-member of the Sisters of Loretto for more than 25 years and she moved to the Loretto Motherhouse in 2008.
Her parents, Leo J. Schuler and Lillian Olges Schuler preceded her in death as well as her sisters, Sr. Rose Alma, SL and Sr. Leoann, SL, and her brother, Leo J. Schuler, Jr.. Alma is survived by two sisters, Becky Schuler Blair and Sally Schuler Price (John) as well as two nieces, three nephews, three great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Visitation will be 4:30 until 6 PM on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church (Bardstown Road at Edenside), followed by the celebration of Mass at 6 PM and later interment at Calvary Cemetery. Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
