IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ann Terry
Spragens
July 24, 1968 – June 28, 2024
Ann Terry Spragens passed away on June 28, 2024 in Springfield, Ky., surrounded by her family. She was born July 24, 1968 in Lebanon to Frank and Wanda Hagan Spragens. She is survived by her mother, siblings— Frank of Lexington, Mark (Sherry) of Brodhead, Sara (Todd Page) of Lexington, and James Spragens (Winifred Smith) of Lebanon— cousin, whom Ann considered a sister, Susan Bybee Steele (Kevin) of Lexington, and husband Ben Terry of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her father. Ann was born with spina bifida which left her unable to walk. However, any place her family went, Ann went without any question. She traveled to many places and went to many Cincinnati Reds games. She enjoyed the loving care of her parents most of her life, but she desired independence and, largely on her own steam, found someone whom she would go on to marry and live with. That is, until her spiraling physical condition took that away and she was forced to move into a care facility the last years of her life. During that time, she enjoyed the visits of her family and occasional holiday outings in Lebanon with them. She made friends of the caring staff and fellow residents at Springfield Nursing and Rehab and indulged her love of classic TV. Her nieces and nephews— Courtney, Ann Claire, Stewart, Paige, Alex, Hagan, Claire, Henry, and Rye— were particularly loved by her and time spent with them gave her immense joy. We would be remiss to leave out her beloved friends, Leslie Dulmage, Theresa Hughes, and Jeannie Proctor. Their friendship was deep and authentic.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 2 at Lebanon Baptist Church. Dr. David B. Whitlock will officiate. Interment will follow in Ryder Cemetery.
The visitation will be at the church, Monday 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Donations in Ann's name may be made to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville where she received so much care in her early years.
Pallbearers are Stewart Spragens, Alex Spragens, Hagan Page, Henry Spragens, Rye Spragens, and Kevin Steele.
