Anna Bell Thomas, age 92 of Loretto, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Springfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born May 16, 1932 in Saint Francis.  She was a homemaker.  She was a very religious person.  She enjoyed working puzzles, going out to eat, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Charles Thomas; her parents, Bernard Clarence and Mary Edna Nevitt Mattingly; two sisters, Mary Aline Wilson and Mary Dell Wilson, who was her twin; three brothers, Richard, Cleveland, and Gatton Mattingly.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Grigsby of Springfield, Joyce Drury of Springfield and Diane Morgeson (Donnie) of Lebanon; one son, Charles Lawrence "Larry" Thomas (Charlotte) of Loretto; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto.  Rev. Richard Goodin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation will be 4-8 pm Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
