Obituary
Joseph Arch Hutchins, Sr., age 87 of Loretto, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
He was born April 9, 1927 in Marion County. He was a retired employee of General Electric Appliance Park in Louisville with 37 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Marie Wheatley Hutchins, his parents, Emmett and Rose Newton Hutchins, one son, John Alvin Hutchins, two grandsons, Ricky and Joe David Humphrey, one son-in-law, Dean Bruner, one sister, Ruby Thomas and two brothers, Jimmy and Leo Hutchins.
Survivors include nine daughters, Linda Bruner, Karan Luckett (Mike), Denise Hayden and Terri Farmer all of Loretto, Kathy Pivot (Tony) of Boston, Vicki Newton (Bill) of Saint Francis, Deanna Thornton (Tom) of Lebanon, Carol Payton (Jimmy) of Turner Station, and Brenda Sue Daugherty (Dale) of Raywick, two sons, Joseph Arch "Junie" Hutchins, Jr. and Doug "Purple" Hutchins (Lisa) both of Loretto, one daughter-in-law, Brenda Johnson (Albert) of Lebanon, three sisters, Ann Leake of Loretto, Rose Covert (Jerry) of Leavenworth, Washington and Nancy Westfall (Maurice) of Nicholasville, one brother, Larry Hutchins (Betty) of Springfield, 35 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis, with burial to follow in Holy Cross cemetery. Rev. James W. Graf will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 6 PM by Bro. Robert Barr.
Pallbearers are his sons and sons-in-law.
