Austin Thomas Green, age 49 of Holy Cross, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at his residence.
He was born March 28, 1965 in Marion County. He was a Farmer and employee of Tower Automotive in Bardstown and a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Dixie Green; his parents, Tommy and Ginger Ford Green of Holy Cross; two children, Mark Cecil (Tracey) of Boston and Jessica Clark (Russ) of New Haven; four grandchildren, Annika Cecil, Trisden Cecil, Jax Cecil and Cody Clark; six sisters, Vivian Fetner (Harold) of Decator, Alabama, Betty Smith (Tim) of Mesquite, Nevada, Sara Durbin (Tim) of New Haven, Amy Walls (G.B.) of Bardstown, Rachael Green of Holy Cross and Ann Green of Nashville, Tennessee; four brothers, Steve Green (Karen) and Emmett Green (Rene) all of Holy Cross, Travis Green of Cincinnati, Ohio and Noel Green of Lancaster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 N. Saint Francis Road, Loretto with The Rev. Bill Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Pallbearers are his brothers and Chris Fetner, Jacob Green, Jared Green and Robbie Edelen.
Honorary Pallbearers are his nephews, Cody Green, Dominic Green, Kyle Raley, Dylan Raley, Lucas Raley, Ryan Durbin and Weston Green.
