Joseph Bailey Smith, age 18 of Loretto, died Friday, October 19, 2018 at University of Louisville Hospital as a result of an auto accident.

He was born December 28, 1999 in Marion County. He was a 2018 graduate of Marion County High School.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Jason Smith; his grandfathers, Harvey Smith and Jerry Akers.

Survivors include his mother, Renee Whitlock of Springfield; his grandmothers, Karen Smith Dean (Steve McCoy) of Saint Francis and Wanda Akers of Lebanon; his great-grandmother, Betty Newton of Bardstown; one sister, Lakin Pittman (Joey) of Loretto; one niece, Harper Pittman; one nephew, Avery Bradshaw; one aunt, Darcy Bernard (Zev) of Goshen; two cousins, Ethan and Emma Mooring.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM.
