Barbara Ann Buckman

Barbara Ann Buckman, 89, of New Market, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. Born on March 15, 1937, in Marion County, she was a former co-owner of Energy Insurance Agency of Lebanon. Barbara cherished time spent with her family and church, loved tending to her rose garden, enjoyed traveling the world, and never turned down a good cup of coffee or a sweet piece of candy. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Ray Buckman, Sr. and Kathryn Thompson Buckman; two brothers, Bobby and Leo Buckman; three nephews, Daniel Ray Buckman, Gerry Buckman, and Jack Buckman.

Survivors include one sister, Brenda Spalding (Sam) of Lebanon; four nieces, Sheila Loper (Terry), Julita Brady (Charles), Sue Anne Thurman, and Judith Spalding (Joe); three nephews, Jonathan Spalding, Todd Spalding (Jane), Jude Buckman (Stephanie); many great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm Monday, March 30, 2026, at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 9259 Old Lebanon Road, Finley. Rev. Sheejan P. George, C.M.I. will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 10 am – 1 pm Monday at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church.

Memorials may go to Our Lady of the Hills cemetery fund.

Pallbearers are great nephews, Ben Buckman, Matthew Buckman, Parker Buckman, Jeremy Loper, Brian Loper, Luke Thurman, Eli Thurman, and Jonah Thurman. Honorary Pallbearers are her caregivers, Cass Stella Sickles and Missy Moore.
