Obituary

Benedict O. Williamson, age 78, of Louisville passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.

Ben was a native of New Hope, KY, a retired employee of General Electric and Woody's Barber Shop, an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He also coached baseball at Camp Taylor Little League for 12 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Hardin and Anna Marie Williamson and a number of siblings.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara Nalley Williamson, three daughters, Cathy Ambach (David), Susan Lawrence (Carl), Donna Williamson and one son, Bill Williamson (Karen), nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren all of Louisville, one brother, Bob Williamson (Virginia)of North Brook, Illinois, two sisters, Hazel Van Becelaere of Arizona and Catherine Hicks of New Hope.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Holy Cross Church, Holy Cross, KY. Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery where military rights will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be 3-8 PM Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5 PM.
