William Bernard "Bernie" Lamkin, age 79 of Saint Mary, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at U of L Hospital due to complication of an auto accident.  He was born July 4, 1944, in Loretto.  He was a retired employee of Navistar in Springfield, OH.  He was a member of Saint Charles Catholic Church.  His passion was showing muscle cars.  He loved his dogs, and he was an avid UK fan.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Nolan Lamkin, Sr. and Barbara Lucille Ayers Lamkin; five brothers, John "Kevin" Lamkin, Joseph Stephen Lamkin, Charles Nolan "Sonny" Lamkin, Jr., Thomas Ayers Lamkin and Timothy Mark "Tim" Lamkin.

Survivors include six sisters, Priscilla Logsdon of Harrodsburg, Mary Wright of Danville, Wanda Dye of Lebanon, Susie Wheatley (Tom) of Bardstown, Martha Ann Reynolds (Robert) of Mesa, Arizona and Michelle Dunivan of Petersburg, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Saint Charles Catholic Church, 675 Highway 327, Lebanon.  Rev. Scott J. Wimsett will officiate.  Interment will follow in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 pm Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
