Elizabeth Madelene "Betty" French, age 90 of Raywick, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at her residence.
She was born May 2, 1925 in Raywick. She formerly worked as a supervisor for Gordon Potato Chip Company in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph William and Lucy Ella Bartley Lamkin; two sisters, Mary Irene Lyvers and Mary Margaret Clark; four brothers, William A. Lamkin, Joseph Anthony Lamkin, Thomas Clarence "T.C." Lamkin and James Michael Lamkin; one granddaughter, Kayla Renee French.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Roy French; one daughter, Kim Mattingly (Michael) of Raywick, two grandsons, Troy Manning and Mason Willett of Raywick; two step-daughters, Kathy Napier (Chris) of Brooks, KY and Beverly Holton (Tony) of Vandalia, Michigan; two step-sons, Donald French (Retta) of Ligonier, Indiana and Doug French (Kim) of Taylorsville; a number of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; three brothers, Raymond Payne Lamkin (Orea) of Bowling Green, Louis Andrew Lamkin (Betty) of Louisville and Howard "Doc" Lamkin of Raywick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick. The Rev. James W. Graf will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 PM until 8 PM Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 PM.
