Obituary

Betty Lou Masterson, age 70 of New Hope, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.

She was a native of New Hope and a life-long member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She retired from Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont after 43 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boot Masterson, her parents Jimmy T. and Louise Cecil Riggs and her sister, Connie Cissell.

Survivors include one daughter, Kay Allgeier (Dennis), one son, Ray Masterson, two grandsons, Jacob and Levi, all of Bardstown, seven sisters, Shirley Hutchins (Eddie), Pat Bartley (Doc), Ginger Ayers(Don)and Sara Riggs all of New Hope, Lois O'Bryan (Jerry) of New Haven, Marinel Clark (Junie) of Cox's Creek and Sister Margaret Rae Riggs, SCN of Nazareth, three brothers, Jim Riggs (Edith) of Louisville, Jackie Riggs (Mary Ann) of Bardstown and Dickie Riggs of Cox's Creek.

A Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 104 Church St., New Hope, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ken Fortener will be the celebant.

Visitation will be 3-8 Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM by Rev. Deacon Eddie Hutchins.
