James William "Billy" Mattingly, age 68 of Holy Cross, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
He was born March 17, 1946 in Raywick and was a retired Farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lee and Mary Alice Miles; three sisters, Effie Lee Mattingly, Lucille Thompson and Viola Mattingly; one brother, James Delmar Mattingly.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Leona Riggs Mattingly; three sons, Bobby Mattingly and Bill Mattingly (Stacy) all of Holy Cross and Jody Mattingly (Margaret) of Springfield; one daughter, Rena Bartley (Jerry) of Holy Cross; one brother, Francis "Toodle" Mattingly (Joan) of Saint Francis; 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Tuesday, Mar. 17, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 N. Saint Francis Road, Loretto, with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Emil Kandor and James W. Graf will concelebrate.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by the Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Memorial donations may go toward burial expenses.
Pallbearers are Joe Joe Mattingly, Patrick Bartley, Todd Willett, Frank Donahue, Gene Clark and Austin Mattingly.
