William Alton "Billy" Mattingly, age 63 of Loretto, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at UK Hospital in Lexington.  He was born December 28, 1957 in Marion County to the late Joseph Lawrence "Alton" and Mary Christine Newton Mattingly.  He was a retired farmer and construction worker.  He loved to play his guitar.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Vannoy Mattingly; one son, Brian Brady (Nita) of Lebanon; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; three sisters, Brenda Miles (Andy) of Saint Francis, Janice Brady (Joe) of Loretto and Susie Mattingly Greer (Cliff) of Springfield; three brothers, Larry Mattingly and Glen Mattingly (Kay) all of Saint Francis and Bruce Mattingly (Robin) of Loretto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto.  Rev. Richard Goodin will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 pm Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
