Robert "Bob" Peterson, age 81 of New Haven, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 29, 1936 in Loretto to the late John C. and Ursula Buckler Peterson. He was a retired Farmer and former employee of Newcomb Oil Company in Bardstown. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Saint Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Ritchie Peterson (2012); one granddaughter, Amanda Peterson; one step-son, Curtis Anthony Lee Holt; one step-grandson, Isaac Lee Holt; four sisters, Nell Brahm, Betty Hupman, Catherine Rogers and infant Ursula Peterson; four brothers, Cary, Jimmy, Bill and Rev. Harry Peterson.

Survivors include one daughter, Lori Johnson of Florida; four sons, Bob Peterson (Anna) of Louisville, Kevin Peterson (Mindy) of Loretto, Chris Peterson and Eddie Peterson (Debbie) all of Louisville; two step-daughters, Lorena Marie Holt of Lousville and Sarah Holbert (Kenny) of New Haven; two step-sons, Danny and James Holt, both of Bardstown; 13 grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren; one sister, Geraldine Peterson of Abingdon, Virginia; two brothers, Rev. George Peterson of Curico, Chile and Rev. Gerald Peterson of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Mary Frances Peterson of Lexington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Saint Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 174 N. Main St., New Haven. Rev. Gerald Peterson and Christopher B. Lubecke will concelebrate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM.
