Obituary
James Robert "Bobby" Newton, age 72 of Manton, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at his residence.
He was born April 21, 1942 in Manton. He and his family operated Manton Grocery for over 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Irvin and Thelma Laura Blanford Newton; one sister, Martha Hamilton; three brothers, Martin Vannie, Joseph Derlin and Thomas B. "Blank" Newton.
Survivors include one brother, John Irvin Newton of Louisville and a number of nieces and nephews.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 6964 Cissellville Road, Manton, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Matt Hardesty will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM.
