Brandon Kyle Downs, age 27 of Bardstown, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at his home.  He was born December 6, 1995 in Nelson County.  He was employed with Bluegrass Dairy in Springfield and previously worked at Barton Distillery.  He was a 2014 graduate of Thomas Nelson High School.  He enjoyed playing basketball and was an avid UK fan.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thurman Downs, Sr. and Cecilia Reid Downs and Robert Simpson, Sr.

Survivors include his parents, Phillip Duane and Deborah Lynn Simpson Downs of Loretto; two siblings, Derick Duane Downs (Christy) of Willisburg and Morgan Danielle Downs of Hodgenville; two nieces, Albrie Downs and Madelynn Downs; his grandmother, Louise Simpson of Bardstown.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Brandon will be held at 10 am Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto.  Rev. Richard Goodin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 pm Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
