Brenda Lucille Cecil, age 70 of Dant Station, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.  She was born October 16, 1954 in Marion County.  She was a former dietary aide at the Loretto Motherhouse.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Rob and Peggy Devine Gootee; two siblings, Debbie Laswell and Billy Gootee.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Dean Cecil; two sons, Robert Cecil (Amanda) of Dant Station and Paul Cecil (Shelly) of Bardstown; four grandsons, Samuel, Matthew, Joseph, and Peter; four siblings, Bobby Gootee, Steve Gootee (Lisa), and Jason Gootee (Rachael) all of Holy Cross and Patricia Mattingly (Steve) of New Hope; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Brenda Lucille Cecil will be held at 10 am Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.  Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate.  Interment will follow in Lebanon National Cemetery.

The visitation is 3-8 pm Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Donald Coulter.
