Brenda Sue Sims, age 74, formerly of Louisville, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, at her son's home in Holy Cross.  She was born June 27, 1949, in Marion County.  She formerly worked as a finance department clerk with MSD in Louisville.  She was a former member of Saint Athanasius Catholic Church in Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otho and Pauline Thompson Sims; one sister, Mary Lou Krill; one brother & sister-in-law, Kenny & Sarah Sims; two brothers-in-law, Jude Ballard and Harry Hagan.

Survivors include her son, James Sims (Christy) of Holy Cross; two grandchildren, Cameron and True Sims; one step granddaughter, Jessi Manley (Doug); four sisters, Margie Beam (Freddy) of Bardstown; Katsy Hagan of Louisville, Lorine Ballard of Louisville and Rose Mary Edlin of Loretto; one brother-in-law, Jake Krill of Louisville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Holy Cross Church.  Rev. Richard Goodin will officiate.   Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

A Memorial Visitation will be held 3-8 pm Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
