Obituary

Carl Louis Lamkin, age 85 of Danville, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at UK Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born September 9, 1929 in Raywick, KY. He was a former employee of General Electric Appliance Park; an Army Veteran of the Korean War; a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus; an avid UK Fan; a former farmer and former employee of Sugar Creek Creamery, Lebanon Oak Flooring and Hammacher Sewing Factory.

He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Betty Ann Lane Lamkin; one son, Francis Michael Lamkin; 2nd wife, Marianne Jarvis Lamkin; parents, Joseph Carl and Mary Generose Head Lamkin; two brothers, James and Winfred Lamkin.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Wilkerson of Lexington and Carolyn M. Lamkin of Harrodsburg; one son, Joseph V. Lamkin of Danville; one brother, Michael Russell Lamkin of Elgin, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Doris Purdom of Gravel Switch; four granddaughters, Franchesca Ann Lamkin of Pineville, NC, Leigh Ann Knoblett (Patrick) of Louisville, Kelli M. Barton (Ryan ) of Indianapolis, IN, Lora Ann Lamkin of Jeffersonville, IN; two great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Shelia Steriere (Richard) of St. Cloud, FL and Debbie Long of Fayetteville, NC; two step-sons, Tim Jarvis (Denise) of Uplike, AL and Frank Jarvis (Patty) of Cullman, Alabama, two step-granddaughters and one step-grandson and one adopted granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday, June 29, 2015 at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 1125 Danville Road, Harrodsburg, KY 40330. The Revs. David Sanchez and Noel F. Zamora will concelebrate. Burial will be held at a later date in Cumberland Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Visitation will be 4-7 PM Sunday at Saint Andrew Catholic Church with a prayer service at 6 PM.
