Carla Mae Sims, age 76, of Holy Cross, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
She was born April 21, 1936 in Holy Cross. She formerly worked as a Home Health Aide and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Sims, her parents, Joseph Carl and Leo Nevitt Howard Peake and her great-granddaughter Mariya Maddox.
Survivors include six daughters, Judy Clark (Eddie), Stacy Thompson (Ray), Cindy Luckett (Mike) all of Holy Cross, Gail Downs (Billy) of Greenbriar, Carlene Mattingly (Arthur) and Tammy Mattingly (Ronnie) all of New Hope, two sons, Alan Sims (Rita) and Carl Sims (JoAnn) all of Holy Cross, 21 Grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson, three sisters, Marjorie Lyvers and Lorene Clark, both of Holy Cross and Jewell Newton of Bardstown.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday, December 3, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.
Visiting 1-9 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 5 PM.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Chad Downs, Craig Downs, Arthur Mattingly, Andy Mattingly, R.J. Mattingly, Josh Sims, Leslie Sims, Aaron Mattingly.
Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons, J.C. Thompson and Ryan Luckett
