Carolyn Rose Wheatley, age 49 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her residence.

She was born December 17, 1966 in Marion County to the late Joseph Menzie and Patricia Ann Smith Wheatley. She was a caregiver for her family members and a part of the deaf community. At three days old she became one of the first at that age to undergo heart surgery. She also received a kidney and pancreas transplant in 2006.

Survivors include one sister, Judy Scholl (Don) of Raywick; seven brothers, Larry Wheatley (Lois), Ricky Wheatley (Mary), Ronnie Wheatley (Angie) and Tommy Wheatley all of Raywick, Jerry Wheatley (Lee) and Billy Wheatley (Valarie) all of Louisville and Jeff Wheatley (Cherie) of Lexington; her dogs Sparky and Precious.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 6964 Cissellville Road, Manton. Interment will follow in the Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery in Raywick. The Rev. Matt Hardesty will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5:15 PM.

Her brothers will serve as pallbearers.
