Charles Newman Corbett, age 84 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at his residence.
He was born September 3, 1933 in Holy Cross to the late William Wallace Corbett, Sr. and Anna Florence Downs Corbett. He was a retired employee of General Electric and of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Judith Lynn Corbett and one infant granddaughter, Judith Lynn Sowders; five sisters, Elvadine Newton, Georgia Green, Bernadette Nalley, Mary Alice McBelli and Appalonia Wimsatt; five brothers, Clyde, Henry, Herbert, Carmen and Wallace Corbett.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ann Clan Corbett; three daughters, Debbie Curtsinger (Joe) of Bardstown, Karen Frank (Darren) of Hill View and Vickie Sowders of Fairdale; two sons, David Corbett (Marisa) and Tommy Corbett all of Louisville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertie Ann Schoen of Duneden, Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Brian A. Kenney will preside.
Visitation is 2-8 M Friday, October 20, 2017 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
