Charles Lyle Farmer

Charles Lyle “Pete” Farmer, 83, of Raywick, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. Born March 17, 1943, in Marion County, he was the founder and former operator of Farmer’s Logging. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, where he qualified as a sharpshooter. He began his career as a lineman, where he met the love of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Katherine Miller Farmer; his daughter, Missy Spalding; parents, Charles Henry “Charlie” Farmer and Margie Benningfield Farmer; four siblings, Martha Jane MacDonald, Eugene Ray, Betty Ray Campbell, and Monta Jo Roloff.

Survivors include three children, Jenny Williams (Billy Humes), Crissy Farmer, and Charles Farmer, all of Raywick; four grandchildren, Candice Williams, Conner Spalding, Parker Williams, and Simone Clayborne; one great grandson, Eli Durham; five siblings, Mary Browning (John) of Lebanon, Delenna Farmer of Lexington, Glenna Angel (Patrick) of London, Linda Lowe (Hans) of West Chester, Ohio, and Sharon Lafferty (Jerry) of Kansas City, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am Monday, August 10, 2026, at Lebanon National Cemetery. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials may go to Lebanon VFW or the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
