Obituary
Charles Ray "Charlie" Meredith, age 70 of Holy Cross, passed away December 2, 2013 at his residence.
He was born January 28, 1943 in Louisville. He was a retired Mail Carrier with the Bardstown Post Office, a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ray Meredith, Sr. and Doris Victoria Duff Meredith and one brother, Terry Meredith.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Margaret Downs Meredith, three sons, Kevin Meredith (Karen) and Chuck Meredith (Leona) all of Holy Cross, Sean Meredith of Louisville, six grandchildren, Hannah, Candice, Benjamin, Nicholas and Luke Meredith and Gabriel Curtis, two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Trent Curtis, two sisters, Charlene Mickel and Vicky Shaffiei both of Sellersburg, IN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2560 N. St. Francis Rd, Loretto. Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, KY 40037, with a prayer service at 5 PM.
