Chester Ray Shipp, age 61 of Gravel Switch, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021.  He was born January 2, 1960 in Marion County.  He enjoyed shooting pool and telling jokes and he loved his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Lee and Pirney Mae Tungate Shipp; two grandchildren, Alena Shipp and Brageden Smith; seven sisters, Dorothy Plummer, Judy Taylor, Gloria Dean Axom, Nannie Wethington, Sarah Moore and Barbara Webb; two brothers, Homer and Terry Shipp.

Survivors include three children, Brian Shipp of Campbellsville, Crystal Shipp (Mike) of Gravel Switch and Brandon Shipp of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Amira, Ameia, Arysia and Jaxson; one sister, Flora Mae Wheeler of Gravel Switch.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, November 12, 2021 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.  Bro. Jerry Lanham will officiate.  Burial will follow in Ryder Cemetery.

Visitation is 9 am until 11 am Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
