Clara Elizabeth Hutchins, age 83 of Loretto, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary.

Clara was born March 2, 1934 in Marion County. She was a former homemaker and member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She often volunteered for her church or to help others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Emmett Hutchins (2000) and a number of siblings.

She was survived by one son, Donnie Hutchins of Somerset and one daughter, Julie Miles (Joe) of Botland; four grandchildren, Ashley Miles Bartley (Tony), Joshua Miles, Wesley Miles, Blair Stotts (David); two great-grandchildren, Gaven and Evelyn Bartley; three sisters, Theresa Mattingly (Ed) and Helen Osbourne (Johnnie) all of Springfield and Thelma Haggard of Liberty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bryan T. Lamberson will preside.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers are Donnie Hutchins, David Stotts, Joe Miles, Joshua Miles, Leslie Miles and Tony Bartley.
