Nathan David Chafins, age 52 of Loretto, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

He was born January 6, 1964. He was a native of Detroit, Michigan and former resident of Toledo, Ohio. He was an employee of University Communities in Lexington, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, music, dancing and playing base guitar. He was an organ donor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Chafins and his mother, Gail Reese Chafins.

Survivors include two daughters, Ashley Rader (Raymond) of Okinawa, Japan and Heather Tacey of Loretto; one son, Justin Chafins of Loretto; four grandsons, Michael Tacey, Braedyn Rader, Kyler Rader and Bryce Tacey; three sisters, Teri Sticker of Turtletown, Tennessee, Connie Kitts of Chicago, Illinois and Yvonne Tomesek (Dave) of Loretto; three nephews, Michael Hye of Turtletown, Tennessee, Tracy Geiger of Loretto and Charles McClain of Whiteman AFB, Missouri; a special cousin Brian Reese of Statesboro, Ohio; a number of nieces, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 7 PM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Cremation will follow.

Visitation is 3-7 PM Saturday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
