Joseph David Riggs, age 66 of Bardstown, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 at his residence.

He was born August 2, 1949 in Holy Cross. He was a former Truck Driver with C-Jam Trucking in Sellersburg, IN and a Catholic by faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Coffey Riggs, one son, Joseph B. "Joe" Riggs, Sr.; one infant daughter, Mary Jo Riggs; his parents, James Ules and Mary Ursula Newton Riggs; one sister, Mary Theresa Fox; three brothers, Thomas Harold Riggs, Sr., James Russell Riggs and James Walter Riggs.

Survivors include one step-daughter, Patsy Riggs (Tommy) of Louisville; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Grace Flannery Klieboeker (Bill) of Illinois, Beulah Burgin (Fred) of Bardstown, Bernadine Smith of Bardstown, Betty Smith of Mount Washington and Fay Smith (Jim) of Fayetteville, Ohio; one brother, Joe Cyril Riggs (Jennie) of Old Town, Florida.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
