Deborah Sue "Debbie" Leake, age 69 of Raywick, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was born July 1, 1955 in Marion County. She formerly worked as a nurse at the Loretto Motherhouse and cherished her time working there and caring for her patients. She was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Church. She held her faith close to her heart. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She enjoyed bingo, casino trips, and playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid UK fan. She loved her family fiercely and had a heart of gold.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior and Viola Payne Fields; three siblings, Ann Hunt, Jeanette Mattingly, and infant Michael John Fields; her father-in-law and mother in-law, Dickie and Nancy Leake; four brothers-in-law, Ronnie, Eddie, and Tommy Leake and Pete Mattingly; two sisters-in-law, Iris Clark and Helen Leake.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Freddy Leake; four children, Gwen Unseld (Rob) of Raywick, Angie Leake (Erin Ballard) of Bardstown, Lakeisha Withrow (Jamie) of Loretto, and Justin Leake (Christy) of Saint Francis; six grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Poynter, Kendra, Kaylee, Jacob, and Elijah Withrow; three step grandchildren, Ronnie Joe Wheat and Shelby and Rob Unseld; four siblings, Faye Buckler of Springfield, Peggy Lee (Jackie) of Saint Mary's, Ricky Fields (Beverly) of Raywick, and Brenda Fields of Springfield; three sisters-in-law, Narelle Collins (joe), Serena Mattingly, and Karen Mattingly (Jake); three brothers-in-law, Sherman Leake (Aline), Alvin Leake, and Don Clark.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Saint Francis Xavier Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick. Very Rev. Scott J. Wimsett, V.P. will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The visitation is 3-8 pm Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers are Matthew and Zachary Poynter, Jacob Withrow, Mitchell, Ronnie, Shane, and Brian Mattingly, and Michael Leake; Honorary Pallbearers are Kendra, Kaylee, and Elijah Withrow, Ronnie Joe Wheat, Shelby and Rob Unseld, Zach Shepperson, Cameron Pittman, Kenzie Sapp, and all her nieces and nephews.
