Deborah Payne Wright, age 72 of Lebanon passed away at 7:37 pm Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Spring View Hospital due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  She was born October 27, 1952 in Marion County.  She worked as a supervisor with the old Jane and Linda Sportswear in Lebanon until it closed.  She returned to school and became a medical assistant working in the healthcare field for many years.   She was a former activity aide at Saint Catharine Motherhouse and was currently working there as a receptionist.  She was scheduled to retire on December 20, 2024 to spend time with her grandchildren.

Deborah died with her husband of 52 years, Roy "Rooster" Wright. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Willard and Margaret Hourigan Payne; one sister, Janet Bickett.

Rooster and Debbie were loved dearly by their surviving two sons, Tim Wright (Joanna) and Michael Wright (Jackie) both of Lebanon.

They were also cherished by their six grandchildren, known to them as Pappy and Ging Ging, Taylor Mattingly (Ryan), Raley Wright, Maggie Wright, Leah Wright, Nate Wright and Nolan Wright; one great granddaughter, Ava Mattingly.

A celebration of the lives of Roy "Rooster" and Deborah Payne Wright "Debbie" will be held from 3 – 7 pm Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Joint Inurnment Rites will be held at 11 am Friday, November 8, 2024, in Lebanon National Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Marion County Veterans Guard or the National Cemetery for Wreaths Across America.
