Obituary

Wallace Donald Smith, age 83 of Raywick, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.  He was born October 11, 1939 in Nelson County.  He was a lifelong Dairy Farmer.  He formerly operated the old "Superior Food Mart" in Loretto.  He was a member of Saint Charles Catholic Church.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Richard and Mary Winifred Newton Smith; four brothers, Larry, Cyril, Gerald and Stevie Smith; two grandson, Codie and Travis Mills; one great grandson, Camden Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carol Jean Detherage Smith; four children, Terry Smith (Crystal) of Saint Joe, Scotty Smith (Tanya) of Loretto, Christy Mills (Bryan) of Mount Washington and Missy Cambron (Chuck) of Raywick; 12 grandchildren, Leslie, Megan, Heather, Skylar, Sierra, Hayley, Austin, Kindal, Amber, Logan, Trent and Dagan; six great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Saint Charles Catholic Church, 675 Highway 327, Lebanon.  Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 pm Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm.

Pallbearers are Logan Cambron, Trent Cambron, Dagan Cambron, Austin Smith, Will Murray and Josh Gordon; Honorary Pallbearers are the granddaughters.
