Obituary
Doris Marie Ruley, age 80 of Bardstown, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at Colonial Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 6, 1935 in Marion County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stuart "Cokie" Ruley; four children, Glenn Stuart Ruley and infants, Doris Ann Ruley, Charles Thomas Ruley and Thomas Allen Ruley ; her father, Joseph H. Simpson; her mother, Emma Rose O'Daniel Simpson Tinnell; her step-father, Jim Tinnell; two brothers, J.E. and Ricky Simpson.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Hamilton (Bobby Ray) of Springfield, Donna Bowling (Greg) and Rose Hamilton (Eddie) all of Bardstown, one son, Joe Ruley (Sheila) of Fredericktown; seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren; five sisters, Beulah Hardin of Saint Francis, Clara Jean Rogers (Lee), Catherine Gartland (Keith), Rita Peake and Helen Kappell (Eddie) all of Bardstown; four brothers, Freddy Simpson (Jenny), Tommy Simpson and Steve Simpson, all of Bardstown and Mike Simpson (Sandy) of Louisville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bill Bowling will preside.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 PM by The Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Pallbearers are Craig Ruley, Stuart Hamilton, Aaron Noel, Marvin Cecil, Travis Edelen and Thomas Ramirez.
Honorary Pallbearers are Amy Spalding, Misty Hamilton, Michelle Edelen, Tiffany Carney, Ashley Noel and Carmen Wampler.
