Dorothy Marie Mattingly, age 80 of New Hope, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.  She was born March 17, 1944 in Nelson County.  She was a former employee of American Greetings and an associate of Mattingly Funeral Home.  She enjoyed a good ole game of buck pitch, camping, fishing and occasional trips to the casino.  She was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Elmo and Dorothy Elizabeth Johnson Dickerson.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lyndal Mattingly; six children, Todd Mattingly of Saint Francis, Scott Mattingly of New Haven, Rebecca Morris (Jimmy) of Saint Mary's, Nicole Greenwell (Greg) of Loretto, Marlana Allender (Josh) of Loretto, and Charles Mattingly (Sheryl) of Owenton; 19 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Weiter (Chuck) of Louisville; one brother, Stephen Dickerson (Robin) of Versailles; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Saint Vincent de Paul Church, 104 Church Street, New Hope.  Rev. Scott Wimsett will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation will be 3-8 pm Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Austin and Garret Hamilton, Gregory Greenwell, Tyler and Freddy Mattingly, and Ethan Allender; Honorary Pallbearers are the remaining grandchildren, Brittany Clan, Audrey Greenwell, Haley and Alyssa Mattingly, Marley and Anna Allender, and Autumn, Miranda, and Caden Maddox, Jamie (Krista), Joey, Jeremy (Kaitlyn) and Jaron Morris (Aly).
