Obituary

William Edward "Ed" Blanford, age 64 of Bardstown, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

Eddie spent his early years on a farm in Holy Cross. He graduated as Class President from Nelson County High School in the class of 1971. Ed had a genuine love of people and always had a story to tell. He was a man of many talents, one of which was carpentry, having built his own home at age 25. He was also an accomplished Tool & Die professional. With a passion for cars, he fabricated his own "Rat Rod" in his later years. But his greatest accomplishment and what brought him the most joy in life was being a father to his daughter Kara.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C. Fabian "Fabe" Blanford and Cecilia Edelen Blanford Beaven; two sisters, Myrna Miles and Della Craig.

Survivors include his daughter, Kara Blanford of Bardstown; one sister, Marlene Blanford of Louisville.

Ed requested no services be held. He wants to be remembered as the wonderful father, brother and friend that was always ready with a story to tell and always had the time to listen. Ed will be buried in the family plot at the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Expressions of Sympathy may go to Holy Cross Cemetery Fund.
