William E. O'Daniel Sr. (Eddie), 84, of Louisville, passed away peacefully Monday, February 22nd, 2021 surrounded by family. Born March 27th, 1936, he retired from GE and later TARC. He used his head for more than a hat rack proven by his successful businesses: O'Daniels Liquors, Germantown Cafe, & The O'Daniel Center. Army Veteran and proud lifelong member of the American Legion Post 28. He was an honest, good, hardworking man with a huge heart who helped anyone in need. Wonderfully witty, he was always good for a one liner. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Thomas O'Daniel and Mary Louise Hourigan and siblings: RH, Thomas (his twin), Gerald, Nace, Tommy, Linda Gordon, and Bobby. A proud father, he is survived by his former wife, Carolyn, three sons: William E (Danny) O'Daniel, Jr. (Teri), Todd O'Daniel (Beth), Quinn O'Daniel (Keli), and five grandchildren: Zachary (Erika), Clay, Claire, Aiden, and Liam, sisters Rita Ann Beaven and Peggy Jenkins and brother, Bernie and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint Charles Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home.

Due to covid-19 restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 50 % occupancy, face coverings are required, and food and drink are prohibited. The funeral will be livestreamed onto the Mattingly Funeral Home Facebook page.
