Elizabeth Catherine Ward, age 83 of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at Providence Hospital in South Carolina.

She was born May 5, 1936 in Nelson County, KY. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Ward (1991); her father and mother, William Ernest and Annie Beatrice Ball Ward; her sister, Georgia Newton; her brother, Joseph L. Rhodes.

Survivors include three sons, Joseph Richard and David Michael Ward, both of West Columbia, SC and William R. Ward of Gaston, SC; three grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Saint Dominic Catholic Church, 303 W. Main St., Springfield, KY. Rev. David Farrell will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 9:30 – 10:30 am Saturday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.
