Eloise Downs Hagan, age 91 of Loretto, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 at home with her family by her side.  She was born February 27, 1933 in Loretto.  She formerly worked for American Greetings and Cowden Sewing Factory.  She loved to laugh and dance.  She was full of kindness, joy, love and laughter.  She was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Hagan; her parents, John Leslie and Mary Della Miles Downs; one sister, Marcella Russell; three brothers, William Curtis Downs, Francis Marvin Downs, and John Leslie Downs, Jr; one daughter-in-law, Vicky Ann Hagan.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Hagan and Roger Hagan, both of Loretto; two grandsons, Andrew Hagan (April) of Bardstown and Rodney Hagan or Loretto; two great granddaughters, Alyssa and Autumn Hagan; one brother, John Albert Downs of Clermont.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Eloise Downs Hagan will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto.  Rev. Richard Goodin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 1-8 pm Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to Hosparus Health Green River, 462 N Bypass Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718.
