Emma Jean Miles Newton, 68, of Loretto, KY, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home in Lebanon, KY.
Born June 2, 1942 in Marion County, Mrs. Newton was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph William "Wedge" and Alice Smith Miles and four brothers, Kenneth, Joseph William Jr., Patrick and Jerry Miles.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Stanley Newton, two sons, Steven (Polly) Newton of Lebanon, Tommy (Mary) Newton of Riley, KY, two daughters, Alice (Romie) Mattingly of Lebanon and Lora (Keith) Napier of Columbia, KY, and eight grandchildren, Quentin, Nicholas, Justin, Tiffany, Thomas, Kelly, Paige and Randall.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday, May 9, 2011 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Saint Francis, KY, with interment in Saint Charles Cemetery in Saint Mary's, KY. Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant. Visiting is 3-8 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5 PM Sunday.
