Obituary

Wanda Faye Newton, better known as Faye or Maggie, was born July 20, 1952, in Saint Francis, at the home of her parents, the late John Marion (Keg) and Lucille Mattingly.  She has resided the past 20 years in Bardstown.  After battling a terminal illness since October 2021, she passed away at age 69, on March 26, 2022, at her daughter's home.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Leslie Newton, a stillborn child Dominique, and her brothers Robert and Gerald Mattingly.

Survivors include three children, Amber Jo Grubbs married to Phillip Grubbs, Krista Noel Hillard married to Terry Hillard, and Matthew Eric Newton, seven grandchildren, Ethan, Eli, Cole, Kaylee, Bryson, Jayce, and Harley, and eleven brothers and sisters.  She had a big heart and welcomed many into her family and was a childcare provider for most of her life.

She will be cremated and there will be a graveside service held for family and friends at 1 pm Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Saint Michael's Cemetery, 6135 Highgrove Road, Cox's Creek, KY.  Her brother, Deacon Tom Mattingly will officiate.  Mattingly Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
