Fred Gilbert Summey, age 77 of Birmingham, Alabama, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at his daughter's home in New Hope, KY.
He was born July 31, 1938 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Fred and Nellie West Summey. He was a retired operator of Fred and Sons woodworking in St. Petersburg, Florida and an Elder in the Riverchase Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Birmingham, Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Lynne Summey; one daughter, Tammy Nucci (John) of New Hope, KY; two sons, Rusty Summey (Robbin) of New Hope, KY and David Summey (Shelly) of Saint Petersburg, Florida; two step-daughters, Tami Seibert (Butch) of Kennesaw, Georgia and Christine Haughaboo (Jeremy) of Alabaster, Alabama; one step-son, Daniel Cooper of Hoover, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Brett and Brandon Leger, Jonathon, Joshua and Jesse Summey, Christopher Gerke and Justin Summey; six step-grandchildren, Brian and Christopher Seibert, Alyssa and Alexis Harleman, Haylee and Brianna Cooper; eight great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen. Services will be held at a later date in Alabama.
