Mary Gail Sipes, age 58 of Lebanon, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at Spring View Hospital.  She was born June 7, 1963 in Marion County.  She was a former employee of Sansbury Care Center in Springfield and Fruit of the Loom in Frankfort.  She was a member of a low-carb group and her weight loss journey inspired many.

She was preceded in death by parents, Shirl Lee and Mary Thelma Greenwell Washburn; one sister, Sandy Gilpin; two brothers, Michael Lee Washburn and Patrick Lynn Washburn.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Kerry "Jello" Sipes; three children, Tammy Washburn of Lebanon, Nicholas Lee Sipes of Lebanon and Belinda Courtney of Greensburg; one grandson, Brandon Lee Estes; one brother, James Washburn (Deanna) of Springfield; several nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen.  A memorial visitation will be held 9 am – 2 pm Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a memorial service at 2 pm by Bro. William Sipes.

The family requests visitors wear face coverings.  The memorial service will be livestreamed onto the Mattingly Funeral Home facebook page.
