George William Wilcher

George William “Willie” Wilcher, 85, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Spring View Hospital. Born November 20, 1940 in Marion County, he worked as an Electrician. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his beloved dog, Levi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Julia Wilcher and two sisters, Devota Riney and Shirley Ann Thompson.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Wilcher (Teresa) and Kevin Wilcher, all of Louisville; five grandchildren, Derrick Wilcher (his wife Alicia, and their son, Maddox), Dustin Wilcher, Spencer Wilcher, Amber Griffin, and Nathan Wilcher; several great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for George William “Willie” Wilcher will be held at 2 pm Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Interment will be in Ryder Cemetery.

The visitation is 10 am – 2 pm Saturday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
