Obituary

Mary Geraldine Donahue, age 92 of Holy Cross, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at her daughter's residence in Holy Cross.

She was born July 20, 1925 in Manton to the late Thomas Arthur and Mary Corine Greenwell Kelty. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hubertus Donahue; two daughters, Mary Diane Cundiff and Sheila Lyvers; one grandson, Dewayne Earl Mattingly; three sisters, Elizabeth Cora Cecil, Susan Viola Smith and Mary Helen Thomas; four brothers, Thomas Robert Kelty, James B. Kelty, Joseph T. "Foie" Kelty and Joseph Hilman Kelty.

Survivors include four daughters, Wanda Rahl (Tim) of Charlotte, Michigan, Catsy Mattingly (Tiny) and Dawn Nalley (Jimmy) all of New Haven and Terri Donahue of Holy Cross; six sons, Steve Donahue of Parkton, North Carolina, Johnny Donahue (Patty) of Hodgenville, Roy Donahue (Fay) of Elizabethtown, Sherman Donahue (Barbara) of Loretto, Jeff Donahue (Brenda) of Holy Cross and Ricky Donahue of Bardstown; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, September 25, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bryan T. Lamberson will preside.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
