Glenn Lyvers, age 51 of Holy Cross, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
He was born July 13, 1962 in Nelson County and worked as a carpenter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Ready Reserves.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fabian and Leona Mattingly Lyvers and an infant brother, Michael Anthony Lyvers.
Survivors include two sons, Joey Lyvers of Holy Cross and Brandon Lyvers (Priscilla) of Cecelia, KY, three sisters, Ann Bullock, Charlene Thrift (Bo) and Janice Maddox (Charles) all of Alabama, six brothers, Randall Lyvers (Carol) of Pensacola, Florida, Jimmy Lyvers of Bardstown, Leroy Lyvers (Rita) of Holy Cross, David and Larry Lyvers both of New Haven and Marion Lyvers (Dee) of Springfield and several grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 North Saint Francis Road, Loretto, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Culpepper Elliot will be the celebrant. Military Rites will be performed by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM.
