Obituary
Grace Brown Lyon, age 98 of Loretto, died Monday, August 17, 2015 at The Village of Lebanon.
Grace was born January 11, 1917 in New Hope to Thomas Edward and Lillian Reid Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William Henry Lyon; two sisters, Sister Agnes Mary Brown, SCN and Nancy Bowling; two brothers, The Rev. Robert A. Brown and Gerald Brown.
Survivors include three daughters, Lillian Gunst (Art) and Betty Lyon all of Louisville and Theresa Carrico (Thomas) of Lebanon; two sons, Bill Lyon (Nancy) and Bobby Lyon (Patsy) all of Loretto; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great granddaughters and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday, August 21, 2015 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Emil Kander will officiate.
Visitation is from 3-8 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayers service at 7 PM by The Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Francis of Assisi Church, PO Box 74, Loretto, KY 40037.
