Blandford
July 1, 1953 – November 23, 2025
James David "J.B." Blandford, 72, of Versailles, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Baptist Health Lexington. Born July 1, 1953, in Marion County, he was formerly employed at Osram Sylvania. J.B. enjoyed skydiving, riding four-wheelers with his family, and hunting for arrowheads. He was an avid Maker's Mark collector and had a special love for animals, especially his cats, Buddy and Beau. Known for his meticulous nature, he took great pride in his gardening.
J.B. was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Marion and Frances Marie Thompson Blandford; three brothers, John Polin "Johnny" Blandford, Thomas Marion "Tommy" Blandford and infant Joseph Richard Blandford.
Survivors include two daughters, Katy Clifton (Chris) of Villa Hills and Megan Mitchell (Eric) of Lexington; six grandchildren, Brady, Finley, Mallory, Bennett, Beckett, and Olivia; two sisters-in-law, Judy T. Blandford of Raywick and Judy M. Blandford of New Haven; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for James David "J.B." Blandford will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Donald Coulter will officiate. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery in Raywick.
The visitation is 9 am – 11 am Saturday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
